Each retail business can use its own unique metrics to contact their audience depending on what’s important to the retailer. However, there is a common set of data columns that are typical with such integrations. These are mobile number, customer’s first name, first purchase date, last purchase date, purchase amount, product purchased, purchase quantity, store name/ID, town/county, brand, supplier, male, female, loyalty member, loyalty card number, etc. When the retailer requests this level of integration a new list will be automatically available on the platform allowing for messaging to be personalised based on particular criteria.

This will allow a subset of the retailer’s audience to be targeted with a more personalised message containing loyalty vouchers/mobile coupons based on past purchasing habits or a very simple “We haven’t seen you in a while” message. This form of messaging creates a closer bond between retailers and their customers.
The integration between Phonovation’s award winning InteractSMS bulk text platform and the retailer’s EPOS & CRM systems will have a direct cost benefit due to a more accurate set of mobiles to contact, while also enhancing more revenue effectiveness by reducing the amount of messages per campaign with a more dedicated and personalised message.
EPOS/CRM data integration with InteractSMS can be accomplished in two ways: through a daily excel/csv file upload sent to a dedicated secure ftp folder on the internet, or through direct database import. Both methods have the purpose of importing pre-selected columns of data to the InteractSMS engine. The integration occurs daily and updates the InteractSMS account with the latest data. If the retailer has multiple stores, all store data will be uploaded in the same way.
InteractSMS can filter all forms of customer data and many retailers are using the service to integrate with existing loyalty schemes making SMS the perfect medium for the delivery of vouchers and coupons which are also linked to the EPOS/CRM systems. There is an opportunity for retailers to schedule messages to help co-ordinate and ease the post COVID-19 customer journey, particularly with regards to instore queuing.
